  2. Logitech Scanners and OS/2 2.0

  5. In the OS/2 README file there is a listing of applications which are known 
  6. to be problematic or won't function under the OS/2 environment.  Logitech 
  7. Ansel (now upgraded to FotoTouch) and Logitech Perceive are both mentioned 
  8. in this list of programs.

  10. While the applications themselves seem to function under OS/2 2.0, 
  11. incompatibilities occur when accessing or using the scanner. It is simply 
  12. that the hardware device drivers written to support these devices were 
  13. written for the Windows 3.0 or 3.1 environment, not the OS/2 environment.

  15. When we first contacted IBM about problems trying to scan with the ScanMan 
  16. 256 in the Windows compatibility box of OS/2, they provided the following 
  17. reasons for this incompatibility:

  19. - FotoTouch cannot work because of an incomplete implementation of OS/2 4B 
  20. interrupt.  (create DOS thread)
  21.  
  22. - They issued a Corrective Action Request, and said they will correct it in 
  23. the next version.

  25. We have been in continuous contact with IBM and are currently working with 
  26. them to try to resolve this issue.

  28. Logitech does not currently produce an OS/2 scanner or application.  Apart 
  29. from working with IBM to resolve the incompatibilities within the Windows 
  30. compatibility box, we are also investigating the possibility of a scanning 
  31. product which will interface directly with OS/2.  If you are interested in
